Land of Kings
I feel suffocated,
In this land,
Of famine & floods
Land of Lords and Kings.
Farmer is in debt,
Feeding all but he is dead.
Will you pay his debt?
This thought makes me dread.
Our King brags of welfare.
Bringing sons of soil to warfare.
At King’s command, the trumpet blows.
He shields the fat cats with vows.
‘Food & shelter for all’! his cronies cry in chorus.
Flies & mice served to calm bourgeois.
Little guy celebrates end of his reign.
A con man comes to play the same game.
