Halloween 2020


 Spirits of dead in scarlet stained bed.

Ten months old draped in red.

Oh! The fragmented mirror with thirteen eyes.

Cradle moaning the lullaby.

 

Closet sweating with putrid oud.

Silhouette tuxedo stares on the spiral stairway.

White pupils fixing the vintage camera.  

Wayward tune she sings with her slit tongue.

 

Electric lamp ignites the extinguished shades.

Episodic switch buttons play in shady spaces.

Stiletto shoes slither on sleek legs.

Holding swerved intestines; Ouch! A dripping dame.

 

Starved cat howls and wolf mews.

Cutting charcoaled peanut butter sandwich.

Red-hot claws slice the rag doll’s heart.

Stale air in the gloom of blood moon.

 

Ceaseless ringing of mobile phone.

Raging ring tone re-echo in the fractured walls.

Barren womb knitting the wool.

Buried body bundles in white shirt that never creased,

 

Smudged lines dance on maps.

Limbs slither to the lost travel days.

In harmonic carols choired in suffocated voices.

Punctured Giant wheel in parks puzzled the punies.

 

A coven convened, crowning the goblette.

Bonfires and scattered echoes eased their pains.

World of living and dead deadened this night.

Eerie Blue Moon of Halloween 2020…

The Bus Ride

​ Sometimes the smallest encounters leave an imprint that stays for longer than you would expect. A moment becomes a memory, amalgamated from both sweet and bitter experiences. I love the prairie summers, and getting home on the bus is my favorite part of the day. Sometime in July, 2024, I was all set to enjoy my bus ride. ​ Like a song that lingers in the mind, And we sing unaware of why we sing. Somedays people, other days events, Repeat in my mind. Today, I was under the spell of the word, nitpicking- not that I was enriching my vocabulary, But thinking of what memories it brought, Bittersweet or sweeter bitter.
