At the hour
of dispersion

of the spoons and plates
Rinsing and
washing the dishes

luncheon and bottles

Glug-glug and pitter-patter sound
The singer in
the bathroom shower
Ch-Ch of
the Colgate and Pepsodent
Tiffs over
the queue outside the bathroom
Dashing back
to turn off the shower
Spreading
out the towels and doing laundry
Waiting for the past to be the present.

the gym or strolling by the sea- side
Walking to
the temple or mosque
Haggling
with the road side vendors
Boulevards
crowded with rickshaws, autos or buses
Hustle-bustle
of the vendors
Hands
filled with packs of fruits and vegetables
Waiting for the past to be the present.

Thrilled
for the meet up , rave-up and wedding invitations
Best shoes,
accessories and attire in the closet
Matching
Bands, nail paints and make-ups
Formal
suits, shoes ties and Yes! Turbans
Scrumptious
meals and pudds
Coffee
dates and gelato delights
Waiting for
the past to be the present.
Jollity and
credence in the mighty
Will soon converse
the days
Diwali,
Holi, Eid and Christmas festivities
Will again
bring nearness
Pandemic,
Quarantine and lockdown will be a History
To grasp in
the texts
Chuckle,
haha , hehe and giggle
Will just be hums in chorus.
